Hiking the Appalachian Trail would be a challenge for anyone. But for Peter Conti, who had shattered his hip in a motorcycle accident, the long hike was a backdrop for self-discovery and personal growth. Our latest release tells the story of how he got where he wanted to go.
Managing Expectations
To earn the title of “thru-hiker,” a hiker has to finish the whole 2,189-mile trail within a year. Peter began his journey thinking that would be his goal, but his body forced him to adjust. By giving himself more time to rest, taking breaks from the trail, and modifying his routine as needed, Peter was able to focus on his health and happiness—and finish the hike on his own terms.
