Trump’s latest campaign has largely benefitted from his legal problems, collecting millions of dollars in donations and selling merchandise after his first indictment in 2023. We can expect these unconventional efforts to intensify as November grows closer. From the perspective of some elite Republican Party members, the problem is that Trump is furthering his own career while destroying the GOP’s credibility.
