In 1926, five women disappeared from a secluded Vermont island, leaving behind only their dresses hanging from an ancient oak tree and a mysterious diary.
Fifty years later, a film crew arrives on New Avalon to recreate the unsolved story—and struggling actress Marin Keane unexpectedly lands the leading role. What begins as an unusual five-day acting exercise quickly turns terrifying. A séance produces impossible answers, strange figures appear outside windows, and one by one, members of the cast begin to vanish.
Even more disturbing, their disappearances seem to mirror events described in the decades-old diary.
With the group stranded and no easy way off the island, Marin must decide whether someone is manipulating them—or whether the sinister presence known as Azra is real.
