Great managers are made, not born. Our latest Instaread pulls advice from The Making of a Manager by Julie Zhuo, one of Silicon Valley’s top product design executives.
Start with You
Managing isn’t just about other people. It all comes back to you, and you won’t be able to support your team effectively if you don’t understand who you are and how you work. Calibrate your self-perception by taking time to understand your strengths, weaknesses, and blind spots. Solicit feedback from friends and your own manager. And spend time implementing a daily routine that best meets your needs.
Now the real work can begin.
