Is your kid a genius? 📚

Everyone wants to believe that their child is a genius. Alas, it isn’t so. But chess prodigy Lászlö Polgár says that genius is cultivated, not taught. All three of his kids are chess masters. How’d he do it?

You’re Never Too Young to Be an Expert

Polgár recommends finding a narrow specialty for your children, even when they’re very small. From the age of four, he instructed his three daughters to play chess for a minimum of five hours a day. That may sound extreme, but he believes that intellectual ability can be directed towards any chosen field. That means you might choose programming, or languages, or sports. The possibilities are infinite—and so is your child’s capacity to learn.
