Growing Discontent
The signs were everywhere, in retrospect. One day, Carrie became distracted by an email while running at the gym. She fell, resulting in severe injuries and burns from the friction. Another time, Carrie noticed that her firm’s lengthy slideshow on long-term goals ended with a single slide on community: “to be determined.” When a therapist confirmed that her job was hurting her health, Carrie finally decided to leave.
