How to Find the Hook Point

Each and every day, you’re bombarded by a massive amount of information in the form of texts, notifications, emails, ads, and other posts. Your brain decides whether or not to ignore a given piece of information in just three seconds. That’s an effective filtration system, and it serves you very well! But if you’re in marketing, it’s a huge challenge to break through. 

To capture your audience, you have to use what Brendan Kane calls a “hook point.” That’s an attention-grabber that, when you use it properly, will make people stop and focus instead of scrolling past. 

As you look for innovative ways to convey your message, aim to make the audience react with shock, satisfaction, or even sadness. Then show what value you can add to people’s lives, so they see their purchase as a win-win situation.
