Social justice arguments can be misleading. Take the fact that there are fewer women than men in the field of engineering. That isn’t necessarily because women are discriminated against during the hiring process. Sowell says that a lower percentage of women obtain engineering degrees, which means the pool of women candidates is simply smaller. The standard used to measure employer discrimination simply isn’t weighted properly.
